Langston Hughes

It was Langston Hughes' birthday yesterday. Go to the website to read why he was an important person in American literature.

Then, choose one poem to practice out loud. You can youtube the poem and listen to someone else reading, if you need help.

After practicing MANY times. Call 302-365-0806 and leave me a message of yourself reading the poem you chose. Make sure to tell me your name! Pay attention to your pronunciation!

Have fun!

Pick a Poem and Practice Pronunciation

Pronunciation is an important part of learning a new language. In order to improve your pronunciation, it is helpful to practice and repeat the words many times. Please choose one of the following poems to practice.

Click on the image to hear the recording. Listen many times. Practice many times. When you feel you are ready, call 302-365-0806 and leave a message of you reading the poem with proper pronunciation. (I will not answer the phone, you have to speak after you hear a beep. I will not hear the phone ring, so you can call at any time.)
